First Rotex meeting

So, last night was my first Rotex meeting where I got to meet all the other exchange students who were unfortunate enough to be sent to South Central Pennsylvania for their year abroad. They all seem to be doing pretty well, considering in this area of America, we couldn't be any farther from the stereotypical image of beautiful people in Hollywood. (Its on the other freakin side of America). I always feel bad when exchangies come here and they wonder where the black limos and the palm trees are. It's so interresting sometimes to listen to the exchange students talk about their impression of this place, which has been my home for about the last 14 years. Some people really like it and I just dont understand why. There is nothing here compared to Europe. I know my life is so boring now. For me there are no night clubs, no alcohol, no cigarrettes, no sheesha, no real french food, nobody yelling "beautiful american!" when they see me anymore, no date-able guys (they're all too american for me) which obviously implies no sex (wait, did i say that outloud??), not to mention no tgv, no means of transportation and/or independence. Please someone come pick me up and take me back to Europe!

Anyways last nights meeting was pretty cool except for the fact that we went to this camp that had no plumming and the only toilet was the porta potty outside. We went to Hershey Park which is this great place that has all these roller coasters and we all had fun together and stayed there until 10h. When we came back we all snuggled up on the floor and froze to death dispite our efforts to keep warm in front of the fireplace. There was a German guy who liked me and wanted to make out with me in the sleeping bag (hey! last time I was in that situation I was at a farm!) I guess now I try to stay away from stuff like that if ya know what I mean. At this point I still have chills from sleeping on that wooden floor all night and the fire going out in the middle of the night. But in the end it was really nice to get to see everybody.

This morning my mom came to pick me up and we stopped at a bookstore where I bought two Paulo Coelho books- Veronika Decides to Die (which I've already read but bought it coz I liked it so much) and Eleven Minutes, a book about a Brazilian girl who has given up on love and somehow becomes a prostitute, and discovers all this new sexual stuff and finds herself and blablabla you know, I like stuff like that- discovery stories.

As far as school is concerned, I think it gets better everyday. I spend a lot of time in the art studio, and I recently found out that I passed the test to be in the uni French class, (AAAAAH!! I GOT IN!!!) and that should be refreshing for me considering right now I'm in a class with a prof that says rediculous things like "une homme". Im not even joking. It kind of reminds me of Anglais Spé last year and the teacher writing "Creol War" on the board... aahhh those were good times though...
